OUR SERVICES
From a single part
to the whole system.
Practical technical support, wherever your project starts. Best suited to product concepts, prototypes, and focused technical problems. Work is scoped to match the need and current capabilities.
01 / Give your idea shape.
Product Design & CAD
From an initial sketch to detailed parts and assemblies. Resolve fit, function, and how the design can be made.
3D CAD & mechanical design
Turn a concept into a three-dimensional model. Develop the shape, layout, and moving parts, then refine clearances and interfaces so components can fit and work together.
Enclosures, mechanisms & assemblies
Design the cases, linkages, mounts, and grouped parts that make up a product. Check how pieces align, attach, move, and come apart for assembly or repair.
Reverse engineering & design refinement
Use measurements, photos, or an existing part to recreate useful geometry. Adjust a design to address fit, usability, or fabrication constraints.
Technical drawings & manufacturing files
Prepare drawings and digital files that describe a part or assembly, including relevant dimensions, notes, and details for review or fabrication.
WHAT THAT CAN LOOK LIKEA custom enclosure that fits your electronics, assembles cleanly, and can be prototyped.
Discuss your project02 / Make something you can test.
Prototyping & Fabrication
Turn designs into physical parts, fixtures, and proof-of-concept builds. Choose the process around the project’s requirements.
3D printing & CNC machining
Make prototype parts using an appropriate process for their shape, fit, material, and intended use. Part size and process suitability are confirmed during scoping.
Custom parts, fixtures & jigs
Create one-off components or workshop aids that hold, position, protect, or connect parts for a particular task.
Prototype assembly
Bring fabricated parts, fasteners, electronics, and other components together into a testable physical build.
Small-batch fabrication
Produce a limited quantity of parts or assemblies when a project needs more than one prototype but is not yet at production scale.
WHAT THAT CAN LOOK LIKEA one-off bracket, a workshop fixture, or the first physical version of a new product.
Discuss your project03 / Bring the hardware to life.
Electronics & Embedded Systems
Connect sensing, control, and movement. Develop the electronics and firmware that make a physical prototype work.
Schematic capture & PCB design
Plan how circuit components connect, then lay them out on a printed circuit board with attention to board shape, component placement, and assembly.
Microcontrollers, sensors & motor control
Select and connect control hardware, sensors, motors, and actuators to support the functions a prototype needs.
Embedded firmware
Write software for the electronics inside a device, such as code that reads sensors, responds to inputs, or controls outputs.
Hardware bring-up & testing
Power up a new board or prototype, check key connections and behaviours, and work through issues found during initial testing.
WHAT THAT CAN LOOK LIKEA sensor, controller, and custom PCB integrated into a purpose-built enclosure.
Discuss your project04 / Work through the unknowns.
Technical Development
Explore feasibility, troubleshoot a stubborn problem, or build a tool to test an idea before committing to the next stage.
Feasibility & proof-of-concept work
Explore whether an idea can work by identifying key constraints, testing assumptions, and building a focused first version.
Troubleshooting & test rigs
Investigate a technical issue or create a simple setup that makes it easier to observe, measure, and test a component or system.
BOMs & assembly documentation
Organize component and material information, part references, and assembly steps to help make a design easier to review and put together.
Sourcing & manufacturing support
Compare practical component or fabrication options and prepare the design information needed to discuss a build with suppliers.
WHAT THAT CAN LOOK LIKEA test rig that helps you understand whether a mechanism or control concept will work.
Discuss your projectPractical details
What we can deliver depends on the part, process, and project scope. These notes help set expectations before we talk.
What kinds of projects are the best fit?
Projects that benefit from a practical blend of mechanical design, electronics, and early prototyping are a strong fit. A single defined task is welcome too. Share the goal and what you already have; we’ll tell you whether it fits current capabilities or needs another specialist.
What can VS deliver?
Depending on the agreed scope, deliverables may include CAD models, technical drawings, prototype parts or assemblies, electronics and firmware, test results, or handoff documentation. Deliverables and ownership are agreed before work starts.
What happens after I inquire?
Start with a written overview. VS reviews the request and, if it appears to fit, arranges a call to clarify requirements. Before work begins, both sides agree on scope, deliverables, schedule, and pricing.
Can I bring a small or one-off project?
Yes. Inquiries can range from one custom part to a complete prototype. Share what you need and we’ll assess the scope.
How are projects priced?
Work is quoted around the scope, complexity, materials, and agreed deliverables. Include a budget range if you have one; it helps us explore a suitable approach.
Can we work together remotely?
VS is based in Windsor, Ontario and accepts inquiries worldwide. Design reviews and project discussions can happen remotely. Fabrication logistics and shipping are agreed per project.
What can you manufacture?
Process, material, dimensions, and quantity are assessed for each project. The current 3D printer has a maximum 180 × 180 mm footprint; printable height and material depend on the machine and part. Larger parts may be split into assemblies or produced through an external supplier. Dimensions and process suitability are confirmed during scoping.
VS provides technical design and prototyping. Projects requiring licensed professional review, certification, or regulated approval need an appropriately qualified third party.
